Unresolved Question
Holidays & Entertaining Why is it always assumed that because it is a holiday that there has to be a big family get together and a big dinner, and this and that? Aren't some holidays supposed to be relaxing? What is your opinion on this?

well, with my family the only big one is Christmas. this is b/c this is the only holiday where aunts, uncles, cousins, EVERYONE shows up under one roof. i agree that some holidays should be for relaxing or to do whatever you please (4th of july, labor day, etc.).

Certain holidays aren't necessarily family related. Work holidays for instance. Either way family or not I'm always happy to take a holiday ;)
