The easiest and quickest way is to do it HONESTLY. Don't sugarcoat anything. Someone can't argue with your personal truth. Meet them somewhere and be honest.

Tell him to his face not over the phone...look him directly in the eyes, do not blink, do not smile and say...i have differences in areas of life than what you do and i am sorry but it is over...no hard feelings...if you any kind of feelings for him as a person say so but not as a mate that way you are not dropping him on his head...best wishes to you...remember it could be your son that someone will do this to one day...so be kind

Hehehe aww that's the easy way out. I've always done it face to face. It's hard but I'd want the same respect ya know. Oh and honesty. It really is a huge load off when you finally do it, and hey... once its done, you're free!!
